Brendan Dolan returns to make his 17th appearance in the PDF World Championships and the 52-year-old Northern Irishman will be hoping to get through multiple rounds.
Dolan’s form this year has been way below the standards he has set for the most part of his career so that may make him vulnerable as he has been handed a potential banana skin in this first round.
He has been drawn against talented youngster Tavis Dudeney who is making his debut in the tournament at the ripe age of 21 – more than three decades junior of his opponent.
Dudeney earned a PDC Your Card for the first time thanks to his performances in the PDC Q-School and he now makes his debut on the big stage and it will be interesting to see how he fares.
As much as Dolan comes into this with poor form, Dudeney will face a setting that he has never sampled before and that could well increase the nerves for the youngster.
This match has to be considered as a possible shock on the cards but our preference here is on set betting and over 3.5 sets is very tempting.
