Bournemouth preview: Thrilling Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola is in charge of an entertaining and very strong AFC Bournemouth side that have moved themselves back into contention for potential European qualification with an impressive recent run of form of late.

The Cherries have collected ten points from their last four matches in the Premier League. The hosts most recently eased to a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux last weekend.

Aston Villa preview: Title race potentially over

Aston Villa begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting seven points adrift of league leaders Arsenal after a brilliant campaign under the management of former Gunners boss Unai Emery.

However, the Villans have been left extremely frustrated this month with a couple of 1-0 defeats at Villa Park against Everton and then against ten-man Brentford last weekend, pegging them back in the title race.

Bournemouth team news: Brooks a doubt

In his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Aston Villa, Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Wales international attacking midfielder David Brooks is a doubt and a late call will have to made for him.

None of the other previously injured players are expected to return with Bournemouth having experienced a busy winter window with the arrivals of Christos Mandas, Fraser Forster, Alex Toth and Rayan.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Cook; Jimenez, Kroupi Jr, Adli; Evanilson

Unavailable: Dennis (Injured), Milosavljevic (Injured), Akinmobi (Injured), Soler (Injured), Adams (Injured), Tavernier (Injured), Kluivert (Injured), Gannon Doak (Injured)

Questionable: Brooks (Injured)

Aston Villa team news: Onana and Watkins fit

Unai Emery has been able to confirm that key duo Amadou Onana and Ollie Watkins, who have been dealing with injuries, will be involved in the match day squad this weekend.

However, new signing Alysson doesn't yet appear fit enough to be involved, while key midfielders Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and John McGinn remain sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Maatsen; Bogarde, Onana; Sancho, Rogers, Buendia; Watkins

Unavailable: Garcia (Injured), Kamara (Injured), Tielemans (Injured), McGinn (Injured)

Questionable: Alysson (Fitness)

Bournemouth vs Aston Villa prediction

Bournemouth are one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the Premier League. Their 24 matches in the top-flight have consisted of 83 goals with only four teams scoring more than them and only four conceding more. Villa can often be quite entertaining and have lacked a bit of control in recent weeks and so both teams scoring in a potentially fun watch for the neutral appears a good bet for this one.
