Bologna preview: On the push
Bologna come into this one on the back of sharing a goalless draw with Brann in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek, in a game in which Greek defender Charalampos Lykogiannis was sent off mid-way through the first-half.
Bologna are now on a nine-match unbeaten run of form across all competitions, since losing to Aston Villa in late-September. They managed to ease past Parma by three goals to one at the Ennio Tardini last weekend.
Napoli preview: Still at the top
Having managed to grind their way to the fourth Serie A title last season, Napoli once again sit at the top-of-the-table ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, albeit they are again far from a fluent outfit under Antonio Conte.
The Neapolitans were held to a goalless draw by Como last weekend before they then shared another goalless draw in midweek, against Eintracht Frankfurt in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
Bologna team news: Couple of issues
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Remo Freuler remains sidelined for Bologna, whilst experienced striker and three-time Capocannoniere Ciro Immobile is a doubt.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Holm, Heggem, Jhon Lucumi, Juan Miranda; Ferguson, Pobega; Orsolini, Odgaard, Rowe; Castro
Unavailable: Freuler (Injured)
Questionable: Immobile (Injured)
Napoli team news: A few issues
Napoli have some key absentees, such as both Alex Meret and Kevin De Bruyne, with a few other issues as Romelu Lukaku tries to push himself back to full fitness ahead of this one.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Milinkovic-Savic; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Buongiorno, Mathias Olivera; Lobotka, Anguissa, Gilmour; Politano, Lucca, David Neres
Unavailable: Meret (Injured), De Bruyne (Injured)
Questionable: Spinazzola (Injured), Gilmour (Injured), Lukaku (Injured)
Bologna vs Napoli prediction
Bologna are in excellent form at the moment. They were brilliant in the second-half of last season before fading in the final few games, having been in an excellent position to reclaim UEFA Champions League qualification. Napoli head to Bologna knowing that they have a lot of quality but the lack of Kevin De Bruyne is a major blow and their performances would indicate a defeat may well be around the corner once again.
Bologna vs Napoli tip: Double chance – Bologna to win or draw
