Belgium vs Wales prediction

Belgium's first 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier ended in disappointment on Friday as North Macedonia equalised late on to deny Rudi Garcia's side victory in their Group J opener.

With the section looking like it could be a competitive one, Garcia will look at this fixture against current leaders Wales as an important one, particularly as the visitors have made a positive start to their own campaign.

Wales delivered a professional performance on Friday to defeat Liechtenstein 3-0 and make it seven points from a possible nine so far. They are now unbeaten in their nine games since Craig Bellamy succeeded Rob Page last July.

There is plenty of recent history between these two nations as they have contested fixtures across a variety of different competitions. It can be argued that Belgium are something of a fading force in European football, but they will still pose a danger to the hosts. However, given the confidence of Bellamy's men right now, a draw would not be a surprising outcome.
