Vincent Kompany will be hoping that Bayern Munich’s current tough patch of form is simply a bit of a mini blip due to inertia, rather than anything fundamental changing. The Bavarians have won three of their last five games but the form is dipping.
They needed to come from behind to defeat RB Leipzig before losing their first Bundesliga game against Augsburg and then being held to a 2-2 draw with Hamburg. That has come around the same time as unconvincing wins in Europe against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and PSV Eindhoven.
Hoffenheim preview: Impressive Hoffenheim
Under the management of Christian Ilzer, 1899 Hoffenheim come into this one on the back of a continuation of their fine form as they challenge for a top four finish and a return to the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga.
They eased to an impressive 3-1 victory over Union Berlin in the capital city last weekend, leaving them third at the start of this weekend’s round of fixtures. That was their fifth successive victory in the German top-flight and they are now unbeaten in their last seven matches.

Harry Kane missed training in the week due to illness and so the England captain is a doubt for this one but it would be a surprise to see him not push through and start.
