Bayern Munich preview: Kane spearheading charge

Bayern Munich are firing on all cylinders both domestically and in Europe. After racking up six points from six available so far in the Champions League and scoring eight goals in the process, Vincent Kompany’s men also secured a crucial win in Der Klassiker last time out, defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to cement their place at the top of the Bundesliga.

The Rekordmeister are looking unstoppable at the moment and much of that is down to star striker Harry Kane. The England captain’s goal tally for the season now stands at 19 in just 11 appearances for Kompany’s side. Not only that, he’s getting the best out of those behind him with Michael Olise also in the form of his life whilst Luis Diaz continues to show what a great signing he has been.

Club Brugge preview: Bergamo breakdown

For a significant period of time, Club Brugge looked like making it two wins from two themselves to begin the league phase after taking the lead against Atalanta in the second round of fixtures. They held that lead until the 74th minute, when the Italians equalised from the penalty spot and the sting in the tail was to come late on, as Atalanta scored a winning goal. It was a huge missed opportunity for Club Brugge, particularly when considering what lies ahead for them.

It goes without saying that the visitors will need to be at their absolutely best defensively if they are to keep out the likes of Kane and company here in Munich. They’ve got the pace to do damage at the other end of the pitch through the likes of Christos Tzolis, but if the backline aren’t perfect, then it will prove irrelevant.

Bayern Munich team news: Gnabry a big doubt

Attacking midfielder Serge Gnabry is fighting to recover in time from an adductor injury that saw him miss Der Klassiker. Should he not make it, then Nicolas Jackson should start once more with Jamal Musiala still out. Other than that, the biggest question mark is which full-back will be left out between Sacha Boey, Konrad Laimar and Raphael Guerreiro.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Jackson, Diaz; Kane

Unavailable: Davies (Injured), Ito (Injured), Musiala (Injured), Stanisic (Injured)

Questionable: Gnabry (Injured)

Club Brugge team news: Onyedika still out

With Raphael Onyedika missing for Club Brugge through injury, Hans Vanaken will likely play in a deeper central midfield role once again. Jackers continues to deputise for Mignolet, whilst Ludovit Reis is out with a shoulder problem.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Jackers; Sabbe, Ordonez, Mechele, Seys; Stankovic, Vanaken; Forbs, Sandra, Tzolis; Tresoldi

Unavailable: Mignolet (Injured), Onyedika (Injured), Reis (Injured)

Questionable:

Bayern Munich vs Club Brugge prediction

Club Brugge are no pushovers by any stretch and whilst Bayern Munich will rightly remain heavy favourites to triumph, do not be surprised if the Belgians give them a number of headaches, particularly going forward when taking into account their penchant for goals this season in the Champions League. So far, Nicky Hayen’s side boasts 18 goals across the competition in 2025-26 when you include the qualification rounds.

Bayern Munich should still prove too strong over the course of 90 minutes, especially at home and with one of the most in-form strikers in Europe at their disposal, they have the firepower to comfortably outscore Club Brugge. But they are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league phase and a shrewd move would be to back a home win, but with both teams finding the net.

Bayern Munich vs Club Brugge Tip: Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score
