Bayern Munich vs Barcelona prediction

Fresh off securing their fourth consecutive Frauen-Bundesliga title on Wednesday, Bayern Munich contest their third UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final, hoping to reach the final for the first time in their history.

The German side defeated Man Utd 5-3 on aggregate in the last eight, having finished in fourth position in the league phase. They have only lost one competitive match all season, but that happened to be against semi-final opponents Barcelona during the league phase.

The Catalan giants, who were 7-1 victors on that occasion, are clearly the team to beat in this year's competition as they bid for their fourth Women's Champions League title. Like Bayern, they also secured their domestic title midweek, winning their seventh straight Liga F crown.

Bayern have certainly improved since their league phase humbling in Spain, and with the home crowd behind them in this first leg, they should give a much better account of themselves. Barca, the undoubted favourites in this tie, will almost certainly find the net, but this confident Bayern side are more than capable of doing the same in Munich.
