Barrow come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Preston North End in the first round of the EFL Cup. The Cumbrians have started their League Two season with a couple of tough fixtures and likely defeats, as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Chesterfield away from home before a 2-0 defeat at home to Milton Keynes Dons.
Stuart Maynard was replaced by Martin Paterson over the summer and last season’s playoff semi-finalists Notts County have underwhelmed this season. The Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw with a poor Newport County side before a 2-1 defeat at home to Salford City and then an EFL Cup first round defeat to Wigan Athletic.
Notts County are expected to challenge this season, but things look even less cohesion than Barrow this season, and the Cumbrians have to be firm favourites at home.
