Barnsley vs Burton prediction

Barnsley supporters have a few issues with their ownership at the moment, but the Tykes did begin this season very well at Home Park last weekend as they defeated Plymouth Argyle, just relegated from the Championship, by three goals to one with Conor Hourihane now in charge on a permanent basis.

They now face a Burton Albion side that managed to pull off something of a great escape with former Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer at the helm. The Brewers began the 2025/26 campaign with an impressive 2-1 defeat of Mansfield Town at the Pirelli Stadium last weekend.

Burton will head to South Yorkshire with a typically detailed Bowyer-style plan, so they will make things difficult, and it could end up being quite a good watch for the neutral.

Barnsley vs Burton tip: Over 2.5 goals
