Barcelona vs River Plate prediction

Barcelona have started the 2025 CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores group stage campaign with one victory, a draw and a defeat in their opening three matches. The Ecuadorians defeated Vinotinto by two goals to one in the LigaPro at the weekend to mean they have now suffered just two losses in their last nine matches across all competitions.

River Plate are one of the leading giants of South American football and, under the management of former boss Marcelo Gallardo, the Argentinians most recently hammered Velez Sarsfield by four goals to one at Mas Monumental at the weekend. They have started their Libertadores campaign with a victory and two draws in their opening three matches.

Barcelona have proven themselves to be difficult to beat but a rampant River would have to be viewed as favourites for this clash at Estadio Monumental in Guayaquil this week.

Barcelona vs River Plate tip: Double chance – River Plate to win or draw
