AZ vs Tottenham Prediction

AZ Alkmaar came through a UEFA Europa League knockout playoff round tie against Galatasaray with an impressive win but they have remained underwhelming domestically as they take on a Tottenham Hotspur side that managed a top eight finish in the league phase.

AZ Alkmaar most recently suffered a 3-1 loss to Heerenveen against a side that have just lost their coach, Robin van Persie, to Feyenoord. AZ pulled off a bit of an upset in the knockout playoff round of the UEFA Europa League with a 6-3 aggregate victory over Galatasaray. They sit sixth in the Eredivisie at the moment.

Tottenham Hotspur have been really poor throughout the campaign as they sit in the bottom-half of the table and this is their only chance of silverware in Ange Postecoglou’s second season, a season in which he himself said he always wins trophies. They may well have recently turned a corner, though, with a few much-needed victories in the league.

Despite those much-needed wins, though, Spurs did most recently lose to Manchester City last week. AZ have shown themselves to be fun and it is likely to be a high-scoring affair in the first-leg.

AZ vs Tottenham Tip: Over 2.5 goals
