Auxerre vs Rennes prediction

In their second season back in the top-flight of French football, Auxerre are suffering from ‘second season syndrome’ as Christophe Pelissier's men begin this match day sitting third from bottom and in the end of season relegation playoff place.

Surprisingly, Rennes opted to relinquish Habib Beye of his role as manager, despite the fact the visitors were perhaps punching above their weight by sustaining themselves in the hunt for a top six finish and European qualification. He has been replaced by former Nice boss Franck Haise.

Despite the controversial decision, Rennes did begin the Haise era with a remarkably impressive 3-1 victory over Paris St Germain and are firm favourites to make it back to back wins here.
