Auxerre vs Paris Saint-Germain prediction

Auxerre, in their second season back in the top-flight, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places in Ligue 1. The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Lens at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in the north of France last weekend.

They now face a Paris Saint-Germain side that sit a point behind Lens at the top-of-the-table, having failed to hit last year’s peak with suggestions that Luis Enrique will depart the Parc des Princes in the summer. PSG were also beaten in midweek, losing 2-1 to Sporting CP at Estadio Jose Alvalade in the UEFA Champions League.

PSG will head to Auxerre expecting to flex their muscles and come out on top, and they are favourites, but they can’t really be trusted to be overly convincing at the moment.
