Auxerre have struggled throughout this campaign and they are in a very ominous position as they now welcome Paris FC to Stade de l’Abbe Deschamps.

Auxerre preview: Struggling Auxerre

Auxerre are continuing to stick by manager Christopher Pelissier, despite an underwhelming campaign, which has fallen into the ‘second season syndrome’. They begin the match day in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places in Ligue 1.

The visitors’ most recent outing saw them manage to hold Toulouse to a goalless draw at Stadium de Toulouse, extending their winless run of form to six matches since a 2-1 defeat to Angers in early December.

Paris preview: Ambitious Paris

Having gained promotion to the top-flight last season, Paris FC immediately asserted their intentions as one of the wealthiest and most ambitious clubs in Europe, but it hasn’t been overly smooth sailing in the top-flight for the Parisians.

They come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to Lorient in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France in midweek and that means that they have now won just three of their last 12 matches across all competitions.

Auxerre team news: Couple of issues

Chile international centre-back Francisco Sierralta is a doubt for Angers this weekend, while versatile midfielder Nathan Buayi-Kiala is a confirmed absentee.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Leon; Sy, Diomande, Akpa, Mensah; Owusu, El Azzouzi, Danois; Faivre, Loader, Sinayoko

Unavailable: Buayi-Kiala (Injured)

Questionable: Francisco Sierralta (Injured)

Paris team news: A few doubts

The Parisians are dealing with a few doubts for this one as they travel to Auxerre, with Thibault De Smet and Ham Traore potentially sidelined alongside Pierre Lees-Melou and Nouha Dicko.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Trapp; Mbow, Otavio, Kolodziejczak; Sangui, Lopez, Camara, Gory; Kebbal, Krasso, Simon

Unavailable: Chergui (Injured), Hamel (Injured)

Questionable: De Smet (Injured), Traore (Injured), Lees-Melou (Injured), Dicko (Injured)

Auxerre vs Paris prediction

Of those three victories in 12 matches for Paris, as mentioned, two of them have come in the cup and so there is a bit of pressure growing on a side that had ambitions of pushing themselves into the top-half of the table this season, perhaps overly ambitiously. They now face an Auxerre side, though, that appear destined for Ligue 2 football and a low-scoring away win still remains the likeliest outcome for this one.

Auxerre vs Paris tip: Paris to win & under 3.5 goals
