Auxerre preview: Struggling Auxerre
Auxerre come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Strasbourg at Stade de la Meinau in the Alsace region the other day due to second-half strikes from Joaquin Panichelli, Sebastian Nanasi and Valentin Barco.
The home team are struggling at the bottom end of the Ligue 1 campaign, under the management of Christophe Pelissier. The hosts have won just two of their ten matches as they sit firmly in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places.
Marseille preview: Brilliant Marseille
Coached by former Brighton and Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi, Olympique de Marseille are a part of the title race but they too often throw stupid results into the mix and that happened once again during the week.
At home to a struggling Angers side, Marseille went behind in the 25th minute before a Robino Vaz brace turned the game on its head at Stade Velodrome but then Angers snatched a point deep into second-half stoppage-time.

‘Second season syndrome’ is a phrase synonymous with English football but it appears to be the case for both Angers, as well as Auxerre. The home team are struggling for quality in attack and being resolved at the back. They now come up against arguably the most Jekyll and Hyde side in Europe but they have certainly found it easier to be good rather than bad this season and they should win quite comfortably at Stade de l’Abbe Deschamps this weekend.
