Auxerre come into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais at Parc OL in their most recent outing, with that scoreline perhaps flattering the hosts in what was a fairly timid performance.
That came on the back of three successive draws in Ligue 1 and they, under the management of Christophe Pelissier, have managed just five victories in their 31 matches this season.
Angers preview: Fading season
Angers more or less secured safety quite a while ago but Auxerre can move to six points behind them if they were to get on the wrong side of the result this weekend, given their woeful form in recent months.
The visitors' 3-0 hammering at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Raymond Kopa last week means that they are now winless in their last six matches with just one victory in their last ten games.
