Saudi Arabia will be expected to qualify from Group L when considering the investment made in the nation’s youth footballing pipeline and developing a world class system to support those youngsters representing their country. They are a footballing nation very much on the up and reaching the final of the U-17 Asian Cup is testament to that. It would be no surprise to see them back that up with a deep run in this World Cup.
When assessing both of these two squads, Saudi Arabia look superior on paper compared to Austria and should dominate the majority of play here. Provided they are clinical with the opportunities they are likely to create, then the expectation is that the Green Falcons will pick up three points to begin their group stage campaign.
