Australia vs Fiji prediction

Australia begin their mid-year campaign with a Test match against Fiji that will act as a warm-up contest for their three matches against the British & Irish Lions.

2024 was a poor year for the Wallabies as they finished bottom of the Rugby Championship table with just one win from their six games, and they also suffered defeats to Ireland and Scotland in that 12-month spell.

However, they were very much a team in transition and there is a sense that they can be a real force again should head coach Joe Schmidt manage to find the right blend of youth and experience.

Fiji will look to channel memories of their historic win over the Aussies at the 2023 World Cup, and they are certainly a side capable of causing another upset given that they boast a physically imposing pack.

The bookies make hosts Australia heavy favourites but it is unlikely to be a walkover for the Wallabies.

Australia vs Fiji tip: Australia to win by 8-14 points
