Australia vs British & Irish Lions prediction
After an opener that saw the Lions claim a narrow win in Brisbane, the Wallabies now face a must-win encounter to keep the series alive heading into the decider.
Joe Schmidt’s men showed patches of brilliance in the first Test, but discipline and composure in key moments let them down and they were ultimately outclassed by their opponents for large portions of the match.
Melbourne hometown boy Rob Valetini returns to the Wallabies side for the second Test, while Will Skelton and David Porecki will also start in the other two changes.
The Lions will be looking to build on their momentum after an imperfect win in the series opener. Andy Farrell’s side were not at the their best but blended physical dominance with tactical control, and they’ll likely aim to tighten the screws further in the set-piece and kicking game.
The Lions head coach has named a record nine Irishman in his starting XV, but he cannot count upon centre Garry Ringrose, who has had to pull out with concussion after initially being named by Farrell.
The visitors were not at the top of their game last weekend and Farrell will be demanding improvement here. Expect a more convincing win for the visitors to wrap up the series with a game to spare.
