Augsburg sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table as they now take on rock-bottom Heidenheim at the Augsburg Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Sky Sports / US – ESPN

How to watch online: UK – Sky Go / US – ESPN+

Augsburg preview: Mid-table Augsburg

Augsburg come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to an in-form Mainz side in their most recent outing at the MEWA Arena last weekend, due to a brace of penalties scored by midfielder Nadiem Amiri.

The home team had been unbeaten in their previous four matches ahead of that loss to Mainz but that defeat does mean they are being dragged towards the bottom three and the danger zone in the Bundesliga.

Heidenheim preview: Rock-bottom Heidenheim

Heidenheim begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting rock-bottom in the Bundesliga and they do appear destined for the drop, as has been the case since winning the end of season relegation playoff last year.

The visitors most recently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Hamburg at the Voith-Arena in Heidenheim last weekend due to goals from attacking duo Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer and Rayan Philippe.

Augsburg team news: A few doubts

Augsburg are dealing with a few doubts for this one and they are all defensive injury issues, such as Chrislain Matsima, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Dimitris Giannoulis.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Dahmen; Chaves, Schlotterbeck, Banks; Fellhauer, Massengo, Rexhbecaj, Wolf; Komur, Claude-Maurice; Gregoritsch

Unavailable:

Questionable: Matsima (Injured), Gouweleeuw (Injured), Giannoulis (Injured)

Heidenheim team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns for Heidenheim to deal with this weekend but versatile defender Leonidas Stergiou is working his way back to full fitness.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Ramaj; Busch, Mainka, Gimber; Traore, Niehues, Dorsch, Behrens; Dinkci, Ibrahimovic; Pieringer

Unavailable: Feller (Injured), Paqarada (Injured)

Questionable: Stergiou (Injured)

Augsburg vs Heidenheim prediction

The Bundesliga has been the highest scoring league throughout this season and is often one of the most entertaining leagues to watch in Europe. However, Augsburg are one of the lower scoring teams in the league, while Heidenheim are the only team yet to score 20 goals this far. Augsburg are firm favourites, especially at home, but it may not be too thrilling for the neutral.

Augsburg vs Heidenheim tip: Augsburg to win & under 3.5 goals
