Atletico Madrid preview: Brilliant at home
Atletico Madrid come into this one on the back of a very impressive result and performance as Los Rojiblancos defeated Real Betis by two goals to nil at La Cartuja in Seville last weekend, continuing an improvement in their form.
Diego Simeone has been under pressure but things are beginning to turn around for Atleti as their impressive home form begins to match up with their away form, at least based on last weekend’s result.
Sevilla preview: Detailed and impressive
Sevilla have proven that they can be so tactically detailed and efficient to be able to dispose of defending champions Barcelona by four goals to one in Andalusia, but the visitors require some consistency with Matias Almeyda at the helm.
Sevilla returned from the international break after that defeat of Barca with back-to-back defeats in La Liga before a comfortable 4-1 demolition of Toledo in the first round of the Copa del Rey in midweek.
Atletico Madrid team news: Midfield doubts
Ahead of the visit of Sevilla to the capital city this weekend, Atletico have a couple of key injury doubts as Pablo Barrios is potentially sidelined alongside United States international midfielder Johnny Cardoso.
Predicted XI (4-4-2): Oblak; Marcos Llorente, Le Normand, Jose Maria Gimenez, Hancko; Giuliano Simeone, Gallagher, Koke, Gonzalez; Julian Alvarez, Alex Baena

Sevilla team news: Agoume suspended
Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume is missing through suspension for this weekend and they also have a few experienced men missing through injury, such as Cesar Azpilicueta and Joan Jordan.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Vlachodimos; Jose Angel Carmona, Cardoso, Marcao, Suazo; Gatito, Gudelj, Sow; Sanchez, Isaac Romero, Vargas
Unavailable: Cesar Azpilicueta (Injured), Mendy (Injured), Agoume (Suspended), Joan Jordan (Injured)

Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla prediction
Atletico Madrid head into this one on the back of an excellent run of form after fairly strong and legitimate claims from the Spanish press that Diego Simeone was finally on the verge of departing. They have been quite entertaining to watch and now face a Sevilla side that will believe they can themselves be intense and overrun some injury issues in the Atleti midfield and so this could be quite a fun watch for the neutral.
Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla tip: Over 2.5 goals
