Although Atletico Madrid have previously made it to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League under a previous format in 2019-20, this season marked their first appearance in either the group stage or league phase of the competition.
They can therefore be relatively pleased with having progressed to the knockout phase play-offs, with star player Fiamma having been particularly influential in their campaign to date.
