Atletico Madrid preview: In-form Atleti

Atletico Madrid head into this one on the back of a continuation of their good form with a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Belgian champions Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Atleti, in almost an identical repeat of last season, started the season shakily, but a victory over Real Madrid has perhaps sprung them into life and they are now on a three-match winning streak.

Levante preview: Entertaining Levante

Following their promotion to the top-flight of Spanish football last season, Levante have been an entertaining watch in La Liga with their 11 matches so far this year having consisted of 35 goals with 15 scored and 20 conceded.

The Valencians have put in good performances undermined by results throughout the campaign and that was shown again last weekend as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Celta Vigo at Estadio Ciutat de Valencia.

Atletico Madrid team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Atleti this weekend as Spain international defender Robin Le Normand remains the only confirmed absentee due to a knee issue.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Oblak; Marcos Llorente, Jose Maria Gimenez, Hancko, Ruggeri; Giuliano Simeone, Koke, Alex Baena, Gonzalez; Sorloth, Julian Alvarez

Unavailable: Le Normand (Injured)

Questionable:

Levante team news: Unai Vencedor suspended

In that clash against Celta last weekend, midfielder Unai Vencedor was sent off and so he is now missing through suspension for the visitors’ trip to Madrid.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Ryan; Toljan, Unai Elgezabal, Matias Moreno, Manu Sanchez; Jose Luis Morales, Jon Olasagasti, Kervin Arriaga, Brugui; Carlos Alvarez, Eyong

Unavailable: Unai Vencedor (Suspended)

Questionable:

Atletico Madrid vs Levante prediction

Atletico Madrid have found some form and fluency of late. Diego Simeone deserves immense credit for the resilience shown, having perhaps come under the most intense scrutiny during his entire reign in recent months. They face a Levante side that play one way and that is to get after any opposition they play. Atleti are firm favourites but it should be quite an intriguing watch for the neutral, too.

Atletico Madrid vs Levante tip: Atletico Madrid to win & over 2.5 goals
