Athletic Club vs Real Sociedad prediction

Andoni Iraola and his Athletic Club side have endured a tough campaign with the Basque giants struggling to balance the intensity of La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. However, they earned themselves a last-gasp win in Valencia in the quarter-finals of the cup last week to breathe life into the new campaign.

They face a Real Sociedad side that, following the appointment of Pellegrino Matarazzo over the mid-season winter break, have been brilliant in the last month. They most recently eased to a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Elche at the weekend to extend their unbeaten run of form to ten matches across all competitions.

That run included a 1-1 draw at San Mames in the league a couple of weeks ago but the new look and entertaining La Real were unfortunate to not win that one and will fancy themselves this midweek.
