Athletic Bilbao vs Elche prediction

Ernesto Valverde has struggled to deal with La Liga and UEFA Champions League commitments this season but issues are perhaps deeper than that as they flirt with a relegation battle. However, victories against the bottom two sides in La Liga, Levante and Real Oviedo, have steadied the ship for the Basque giants.

Elche were brilliant following their promotion to the top-flight last season but the Valencians have since regressed and slipped into a relegation battle, sitting just a point outside of the bottom three and the danger zone after a frustrating goalless draw with Osasuna last weekend.

Elche haven’t won a game in 2026 but their style should mean they try and attack their way out of trouble, albeit Athletic remain favourites with home advantage.

Athletic Bilbao vs Elche tip: Athletic Bilbao to win & both teams to score
