Atalanta preview: Improved Atalanta

In the summer, Atalanta made a mistake by appointing Ivan Juric to replace club legend Gian Piero Gasperini but the appointment of Raffaele Palladino, mid-way through the first-half of the season, has led to a major improvement for Atalanta.

The Bergamasci have now managed three victories in their last four matches in Serie A, having edged past Genoa by a goal to nil at the Luigi Ferraris last weekend with a second-half stoppage-time penalty scored by Isak Hien.

Inter Milan preview: League leaders Inter

After 15 games of the 2025/26 Serie A season, Internazionale sit at the top-of-the-table, a point clear of Derby della Madonnina rivals AC Milan, with three successive victories in Serie A ahead of this one.

However, in the Supercoppa Italiana, the Nerazzurri were beaten by Bologna in the semi-finals in Saudi Arabia last weekend, losing on penalties to Vincenzo Italian’s impressive side.

Atalanta team news: Key absentees

Atalanta are dealing with a few key absentees for this one, including both Odilon Kossounou and Ademola Lookman, who are away at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; De Roon, Hien, Kolasinac; Zappacosta, Musah, Ederson, Bernasconi; De Ketelaere, Maldini; Scamacca

Unavailable: Kossounou (International duty), Djimsiti (Injured), Bakker (Injured), Bellanova (Injured), Lookman (International duty)

Questionable: Pasalic (Injured)

Inter Milan team news: A few injuries

The Nerazzurri have a few confirmed absentees, such as Denzel Dumfries and Ange-Yoan Bonny, while experienced former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is also a doubt.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Zielinski, Sucic, Carlos Augusto; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram

Unavailable: Acerbi (Injured), Dumfries (Injured), Bonny (Injured)

Questionable: Di Gennaro (Injured), Palacios (Injured), Darmian (Injured)

Atalanta vs Inter Milan prediction

With home advantage at the Gewiss Stadium, Atalanta will fancy themselves to get themselves on the front foot with an attacking style of football implemented by Palladino, who is known for being a disciple of Gasperini. Inter head across to Bergamo with an issue in big games so far this season and so siding with Atalanta, especially with their home advantage, would appear a good bet for this one.

Atalanta vs Inter Milan tip: Double chance – Atalanta to win or draw
