Aston Villa vs Tottenham Prediction

Unai Emery and Aston Villa have big games in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League coming up, whilst Tottenham Hotspur are reliant on an FA Cup run for this season.

Aston Villa come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux last weekend but since then they have added Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio to their squad ahead of a potentially excellent end to this campaign. They are in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League and sit four points outside of the top five in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou, on the other hand, is under immense pressure at the moment after Tottenham suffered a 4-0 loss at Liverpool to lose 4-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup. They are languishing in 14th in the Premier League so are reliant on cup runs with defeat at Villa Park this weekend potentially the end of the Postecoglou era.

There is a chance that Spurs could have their season ended with only the UEFA Europa League, a competition they have very little chance of winning, remaining if they lose. The fact is, they haven’t won many games for about nine months or so. Backing Villa is the way to go.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Tip: Double chance – Aston Villa to win or draw
