Aston Villa vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv prediction

Aston Villa had been in excellent form across all competitions but they now head into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to a previously out of form Liverpool side at Anfield. That came about ten days or so after a shock loss to Eredivisie minnows the Go Ahead Eagles in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League.

They face a Maccabi Tel-Aviv side that come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory over Maccabi Bnei Reineh in the Israeli Premier League, where they sit behind Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the table, at the weekend. In this competition, they have collected a point without scoring against PAOK Salonika and Midtjylland.

With their home advantage, and no away support due to policing, this should be a comfortable home win as they try to re-assert themselves in this tournament.
