Arsenal vs West Ham prediction

Likely title challengers Arsenal showed all their fighting qualities against Newcastle at St James' Park last weekend, scoring twice late on - including a Gabriel winner at the death - to secure a vital 1-2 victory and capitalise on league leaders Liverpool slipping up.

The Gunners followed that with a hard-fought 2-0 triumph over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League midweek.

A fine second-half strike from Jarrod Bowen earned West Ham a point against Everton last weekend in what was Nuno Espirito Santo's first match in charge of the Hammers.

Still languishing in the bottom three heading into the weekend, brighter days are surely coming for West Ham under a manager who is proven in the top flight, but this will be a stern test for them against Mikel Arteta's hugely talented squad.

A win to nil for the hosts could be the way to go in this one, with Arsenal having conceded just three goals in their nine competitive games this season.
