Arsenal vs Real Madrid prediction

Arsenal have left themselves in a tricky situation in the league phase having lost two of their first three matches, with their 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich last week a particularly bitter pill to swallow given that they led by two goals with 25 minutes to go.

The UEFA Women's Champions League holders drew their second consecutive Women's Super League game on Sunday, when they were held to a goalless draw by north London rivals Tottenham.

Real Madrid were hugely wasteful against Paris FC on Matchday 3 but had in-form Caroline Weir to thanks to salvaging a point with a late equaliser, and the Spanish side remain unbeaten in the league phase having collected seven points from the first nine available.

A 4-0 defeat to Liga F rivals Barcelona in El Clasico over the weekend will not have done wonders for the confidence, but that defeat wasn't entirely unexpected given the quality of their star-studded opponents.

Should Arsenal fail to win here then the pressure will really ramp up, but we're backing Renee Slegers' side to rise to the challenge and improve their footing in the league phase.
