Arsenal Preview: Gunning in Europe
Mikel Arteta’s side have been fully focused on the UEFA Champions League for some time now with the Premier League title race being all but over for a few months and the Gunners have been underwhelming domestically but their performances in Europe are anything but.
In the quarter-finals of the competition a couple of weeks ago, Arsenal backed up a 3-0 hammering of reigning European champions Real Madrid at home by winning by two goals to one at the Bernabeu thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Paris Saint-Germain Preview: Unbeaten run broken
Paris Saint-Germain were pushing to become the first ever French team to go through an entire Ligue 1 season unbeaten but the Parisiens had that dream ended at the weekend as they suffered a surprise 3-1 loss to top four chasing Nice at the Parc des Princes.
Luis Enrique is a demanding coach and will not allow for a let up in the intensity of his PSG squad as the French champions chase a first ever treble for the club with the Coupe de France final taking place next month against Stade de Reims at Stade de France.
Arsenal Team News: Partey suspended
A major boost for the Gunners this week is that Mikel Merino has trained ahead of the visit of PSG. He has been deployed as a striker in the last couple of months and has done that job very well but is an injury doubt. The key absentee for the hosts is Thomas Partey, who is missing through suspension for this first-leg.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Merino, Martinelli
Unavailable: Gabriel (Injured), Tomiyasu (Injured), Jorginho (Injured), Partey (Suspended), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)
Questionable: White (Injured), Calafiori (Injured), Merino (Injured)
Paris Saint-Germain Team News: Fully fit
Luis Enrique took a rare decision to play what is his first-choice eleven against Nice the other day, which made their defeat to the southerners even more surprising. They have no fresh injury concerns and have no suspension issues either as they make the trip across the channel.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain Prediction
Arsenal will seek to get themselves a fast start ahead of the visit of the French champions but the Parisiens are a very different outfit from the one that the Gunners dispatched of by two goals to nil earlier in the season in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League. Mikel Arteta will be keen to avoid PSG’s array of stars in attack from getting into positions on the counter-attack and we may end up having a bit of a stalemate as neither side want to cede the advantage ahead of the second-leg in the French capital next week.
Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain Tip: Under 3.5 goals
