Everton have had some success in this fixture in recent seasons and, after scoring four past Wolves in their most recent Premier League encounter, could pose a threat to Mikel Arteta's side.

Kick-off date/time: Saturday 14th December, 2024: UK – 3:00pm / US ET – 10:00am / US PT – 7:00am

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Peacock Premium

How to watch online: UK – Cannot be streamed / US – Premier League

Arsenal Preview: General improvement

After a four-game winning run in all competitions, Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by a stubborn Fulham side last Sunday, with William Saliba's goal - from yet another corner - cancelling out Raul Jimenez' early opener.

The Gunners responded well in the Champions League on Wednesday though, defeating Monaco 3-0 thanks to a double from Bukayo Saka and a late third from Kai Havertz. Mikel Arteta's side are currently third in the inaugural league phase, which continues in late January.

Everton Preview: Scoring boots finally found

Seemingly out of nowhere, Everton recorded their biggest win of the season last time out when they overcame Wolves 4-0, with Ashley Young and and Orel Mangala's goals supplemented by a pair of Craig Dawson own goals.

This came after a five-game winless run, while their scheduled Merseyside Derby clash with Liverpool last weekend was postponed due to severe weather so they have had plenty of time to prepare for this fixture.

Arsenal Team News: Gabriel mystery

We are still none the wiser with regards to Gabriel's availability, although the Brazilian centre-back has reportedly returned to training. Arteta could play it safe with Kiwior once more though, rather than risk re-injuring his first-choice centre-back.

Riccardo Calafiori could also return to the fold, but Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are definitely out. Leandro Trossard, meanwhile, is alternative option to Gabriel Martinelli on the left side of attack.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Partey, Saliba, Kiwior, Timber; Odegaard, Rice, Merino; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli

Unavailable: White (Injured), Tomiyasu (Injured)

Questionable: Gabriel (Injured), Calafiori (Injured), Zinchenko (Injured)

Everton Team News: Keane fit

Youssef Chermiti, amongst others, took part in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly that will have aided match fitness, while Michael Keane has been passed fit for this fixture.

Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner are still working on their recoveries and remain absent for the Toffees.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; McNeil, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin

Unavailable: Garner (Injured), Iroegbunam (Injured)

Questionable: Chermiti (Fitness)

Arsenal vs Everton Prediction

After a desperate run of form in front of goal, Sean Dyche will be hoping that Everton's convincing win over Wolves last time out will have given them the confidence they need to find the net with greater regularity. Indeed, the Toffees have had extra time to prepare for this trip to the Emirates having had their proposed clash with Liverpool postponed last weekend.

The same can't be said for Arsenal though, with the fixtures coming thick and fast for Mikel Arteta's men. They have been up the task lately though, and the draw with Fulham aside, have massively improved their level since a November slump. Bukayo Saka has been in excellent form lately and will be tough for this Toffees backline to contain. After a brace against Monaco on Wednesday, we're backing the England international to find the net once again.

Arsenal vs Everton Tip: Bukayo Saka to score anytime
