We have a bit of a regional derby taking place in the UEFA Europa Conference League this midweek as Cypriot outfit Aris Limassol now take on Greek giants AEK Athens.

In the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League in recent weeks, Aris Limassol defeated Hungarian outfit Puskas Akademia by five goals to two on aggregate. In the first-leg of that tie, the Cypriots defeated Puskas by three goals to two, before then pulling off a comfortable 2-0 victory in the second-leg.
Having brought in former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic in an ambitious swoop, AEK Athens will be expected to go deep into this tournament. The Greeks were unconvincing in their previous round, though, as they edged past Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva by a goal to nil on aggregate.
This one does appear to be an evenly matched contest on paper, and it is expected to be quite an even contest with a draw the most likely result for this one in Cyprus.
