Italy just needs a point to guarantee themselves a place in the round of 16, although a win over Argentina would see them secure top spot.

Argentina vs Italy prediction

When taking into account that Italy are yet to be beaten in this tournament, having beaten Australia 1-0 and drawing 2-2 with Cuba, getting the better of them won’t be easy. However, they threw away three points against Cuba after giving up a two-goal lead and they are taking on an Argentina side who already through with a 100% record in Group D, averaging over three goals per game.

To blow such a comfortable lead in the Cuba match was a hammer blow for Italy and one which they may struggle to recover from, with this Argentinian attack capable of opening them up very quickly. Argentina have been one of the best teams in the competition so far and backing them to pick up three points looks a smart play.
