APOEL vs Celje Prediction
That aforementioned entertaining first-leg saw Celje take a second minute lead via Armandas Kucys before APOEL made it 1-1 before half-time. Kucys notched a brace in the second-half before APOEL equalised again before then having Lasha Dvali sent off.
APOEL Nicosia backed up their comeback against Celje by earning a much-needed 2-1 defeat of AEL Limassol at the weekend. The Cypriot giants have underwhelmed domestically, though, as they currently sit fifth in the Cypriot top-flight, eight points adrift of the top four and 18 behind league leaders Pafos.
Celje surprised many by reaching the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League as they also sit fifth domestically, 16 points behind league leaders Olimpija Ljubljana. In their most recent outing, they shared a goalless draw with Mura and they have now managed just one win in their last six matches across all competitions.
APOEL have been unconvincing throughout this campaign but there may be a view that Celje blew their chance last week and, with home advantage, the Cypriots should now progress.
