Angers vs Reims Prediction

As mentioned, Angers started the season very poorly following their promotion to the top-flight but they have been much-improved and can pour more focus into the cup as they take on a Stade de Reims side that need some respite offered by the cup.

The home team come into this one on the back of a surprisingly thrilling 3-3 draw with Saint-Etienne at Stade Geoffrey-Guichard in their most recent outing at the weekend. They sit firmly ensconced in the middle of the Ligue 1 table with just two defeats in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Stade de Reims, on the other hand, started the season positively but Slovenian coach Luka Elsner has now been replaced by Samba Diawara with their fourth successive defeat in Ligue 1 at the weekend, against Rennes at Roazhon Park, leaving them just above the danger zone in the league.

These two have combined for just 52 goals in 23 league games so far this season and there will be tension in this one given the cup semis are on the line so a low-scoring affair is likely.

Angers vs Reims Tip: Under 2.5 goals
