Angers preview: Mid-table Angers
Angers come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Paris FC at Stade Jean-Bouin in the French capital city, following on from back-to-back losses against Olympique de Marseille and Le Havre.
Those defeats came either side of a penalty shootout loss to Toulouse in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France. That run of form came on the back of an impressive run whereby they had lost just one of their last six matches.
Metz preview: Rock-bottom Metz
Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Metz sit rock-bottom in Ligue 1 with just three victories, three draws and 13 defeats thus far, under the management f Benoit Tavenot, who took charge earlier this month.
However, Tavenot hasn’t provided much of an improvement with the visitors coming into this one on the back of a 5-2 loss at home to Olympique Lyonnais at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Angers vs Metz prediction
Angers have been very competitive since they gained promotion in the 2023/24 Ligue 2 campaign. The home team have been so with a defensive and quite reactive style of football, though, having scored just 20 goals in their 19 games. Metz have managed 21 in their 19 and that has been better than expected with such a limited squad and so they may bloody the nose of Angers but a home win is still to be expected.
