Anderlecht vs Hoffenheim Prediction

Anderlecht suffered their first defeat of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League league phase campaign last week, whilst Hoffenheim are on the verge of having their elimination confirmed.

The Belgians, under the management of David Hubert, hammered Mechelen by four goals to one at Lotto Park at the weekend a few days after a 2-1 loss to Czech First League side Viktoria Plzen. Four victories and two draws in this competition before that defeat means they remain tucked inside the top eight and the automatic qualifying spots in the UEFA Europa League.

Hoffenheim appointed Sturm Graz boss Christian Ilzer during the November international break but he is now under immense pressure as they hover just above the bottom three in the Bundesliga with their 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur last week contributing to just one win in their last 12 matches across all competitions.

In those 12 games, Hoffenheim have conceded 27 goals with two goals in a game conceded on eight of those matches. Anderlecht will want to ensure they can avoid the two-legged knockout playoff so have the motivation and home advantage to probably see them over the line here.

Anderlecht vs Hoffenheim Tip: Anderlecht to win
