Anderlecht were very impressive in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League but a poor end and now a poor first-leg in Istanbul against Fenerbahce last week makes elimination inevitable.

Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce Prediction

In the first-leg of this UEFA Europa League knockout playoff round tie, Fenerbahce hammered Anderlecht by three goals to nil last week thanks to goals from Dusan Tadic, Edin Dzeko and Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Brussels-based club had been tucked inside the top eight of the league phase but they finished their eight-game campaign with back-to-back defeats. They do come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Sporting Charleroi at the weekend but they remain fourth in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, sitting 15 points behind league leaders Club Brugge.

Fenerbahce, coached by Jose Mourinho, have underwhelmed in the Turkish Super Lig title race sitting six points behind intercontinental rivals Galatasaray. In this competition, too, they only just squeezed into the top 24 and the knockout playoffs but appear to be sailing through to the Round of 16.

Even when playing well in this competition, Anderlecht only scored 14 goals in eight games. They face a Fener side that, in classic Jose Mourinho style, will look to shut things down here.

Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce Tip: Under 2.5 goals
