Algeria have returned to being one of the strongest sides on the African continent ahead of next summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup as they now prepare for a friendly against Rwanda this week.

Algeria vs Rwanda prediction

The Algerians most recently hammered Mozambique by five goals to one in their last FIFA-recognised international during the March international break. Their goal scorers in that game showcased their depth because the likes of Amine Gouiri, Riyad Mahrez and Said Benrahma weren’t even on the scoresheet as Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura notched a hat-trick.

They now face a Rwanda side that come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in their most recent outing in Group C of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They remain second in that group, sitting ahead of Nigeria but they are now five points behind South Africa with four games of the campaign to go.

Rwanda have made themselves difficult to beat, scoring four goals to sit second in Group C, but the Algerians will be confident of a victory in this one at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui.
