Deportivo Alaves are very much involved in La Liga's tetchy relegation battle, while Girona recently have a great example as to how inconsistent they are.

Alaves vs Girona prediction

Eduardo Coudet remains under pressure for his job in the Basque Country with Alaves beginning this weekend's round of fixtures sitting two points clear of the bottom three and the relegation places. They were held to a 1-1 draw with ten man Sevilla in Andalusia last weekend.

Having become just the third team to lose to Real Oviedo this season a couple of weeks ago, Girona then put in an excellent performance to defeat Barcelona by two goals to one at Montilivi in a Catalan derby last weekend in a game in which the 2-1 scoreline didn't really do Girona justice for just how good they were.

Alaves have been inconsistent throughout the Coudet reign and that hasn't changed. Girona aren't the most trustworthy side but they have to be favoured at Mendizarrozza.

Alaves vs Girona tip: Girona to win
