Deportivo Alaves have been solid if a little unspectacular so far this season. They are sitting firmly in mid-table and look every bit a team who will be safe from the drop but who are unlikely to trouble the European spots.
Eduardo Coudet's side fell to a 1-0 defeat to Mallorca last Saturday but they remain a defensively solid side with their games characterised by very few goals.
Still unbeaten upon their return to the top flight, Elche's dream start to the campaign continued with a 3-1 victory against Celta Vigo last weekend, with their attractive brand of football under manager Eder Sarabia earning plenty of plaudits.
Alaves can be a tough nut to crack at times though, and the bookies are very much undecided on the outcome of this match. A draw looks like the safe bet, with under 2.5 goals another viable option
