It is a bit of a major surprise to see Al Ahli reach the final of this season’s AFC Champions League as they take on Japanese J1 League side Kawasaki Frontale in Jeddah this weekend.

Kick-off date/time: Saturday 3rd May, 2025: UK – 5:30pm / US ET – 12:30pm / US PT – 9:30am

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Paramount+

Al Ahli vs Kawasaki Frontale prediction

Al Ahli overcame Buriram United by three goals to nil in the quarter-finals last weekend before then defeating reigning Saudi champions Al Hilal by three goals to one in the semi-finals thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino, Ivan Toney and Faris Al Buraikan. The pressure had been on Matthias Jaissle but they now have a massive opportunity for major silverware.

Kawasaki Frontale come into this one on the back of a thrilling 3-2 defeat of Al Nassr in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League in midweek to back up their similarly entertaining 3-2 defeat of Qatari outfit Al Sadd in the quarter-finals last weekend. They have been underwhelming domestically with just four wins in 12 2025 J1 League games thus far.

Al Ahli have been chaotic and entertaining to watch throughout the season and the exact same can be said for Kawasaki so a high-scoring final would appear the likeliest outcome for the showpiece event in Asian club football.

Al Ahli vs Kawasaki Frontale tip: Over 2.5 goals
