Matthias Jaissle’s Al Ahli have struggled for goals this season with just 19 scored in their 13 games and too many draws has held them back as they sit fourth in the table. They did manage to edge past struggling Al Okhdood by a goal to nil at the weekend.
Al Taawon, without AFC Cup commitments to deal with, have returned to being the biggest overachiever in the Saudi Pro League as they sit tucked inside the top three. They most recently eased to a comfortable 2-0 win against Al Shabab the other day.
Al Taawon are a team that have been difficult to play against this season, while Al Ahli have been the same and that should lead to a low-scoring, quite cagey affair in Jeddah.
