Essendon’s superior point percentage over the teams behind them chasing their current eighth position on the AFL ladder means a win at home to Collingwood should be enough to see them safely through to the final eight. Four wins from their last six matches is strong form indeed but their home record has been poor in recent month with four defeats from their last five played. Still, Collingwood have little to play for here but pride and four defeats from their last five matches looks like a side wishing for the end of the season now. It should come via a healthy Essendon victory here, who can cover -22.5 in doing so.
