THE PREDICTION
GWS Giants know a win will guarantee them their current seventh place rung of the AFL ladder with three sides behind them capable of pipping them at the very last round if they fail to beat Carlton. The hosts look like obliging, though, with three straight defeats at home to Geelong at the top of the ladder but disappointingly to Gold Coast and rock-bottom North Melbourne in recent weeks. GWS Giants have won three of their last five matches and are unbeaten on the road in four, including two stunning results at the top two sides in Melbourne and Geelong. They should be able to get the job done on the final day of the regular season and cover – 22.5 in doing so.
