Accrington vs Gillingham prediction

Coached by John Doolan, Accrington Stanley struggled in League Two last season as they finished 21st in the fourth-tier, but that is effectively still punching well above their weight, given the size of the club. They will once again be expected to struggle, but they have made some intriguing signings over this summer’s transfer window.

They now face a Gillingham side that have themselves also made some fairly impressive additions, with the arrival of Sam Vokes from Wycombe Wanderers. Gareth Ainsworth was appointed Gills boss towards the end of last season and their form did improve as they finished without a loss in their final 12 games of the campaign.

Gillingham drew too much last season with 16 stalemates in their 46 league games, and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them held by Accrington once again this week.

Accrington vs Gillingham tip: Draw
