AC Milan preview: Title challenging Rossoneri

Massimiliano Allegri was brought in to make AC Milan a more serious outfit once again and the Rossoneri, despite not playing a brilliant style of football, are very much the closest challengers to Internazionale at the top-of-the-table in Serie A.

Milan come into this one on the back of being completely outplayed by Como at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia the other day but they managed to come from behind to win 3-1 with a Christopher Nkunku strike as well as an Adrien Rabiot brace.

Lecce preview: Struggling Lecce

In the last couple of seasons, Eusebio Di Francesco was relegated after a late rally with Frosinone and then relegated after a late rally with Venezia. Lecce have been steadier from earlier on this time around but their form is still poor.

The Apulia-based outfit were edged out by Inter at San Siro the other day due to a late winner scored by striker Francesco Pio Esposito. That leaves them sitting just outside of the bottom three and the relegation places in Italy’s top-flight.

AC Milan team news: No Pavlovic

Santiago Gimenez has been linked with a move away but he remains, albeit is missing through injury alongside Serbia international defender Strahinja Pavlovic.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, De Winter; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Leao

Unavailable: Pavlovic (Injured), Santiago Gimenez (Injured)

Questionable:

Lecce team news: Couple of suspensions

Lecce head to Lombardy with a few absentees and a couple of those are suspensions as defender Kialonda Gaspar and full-back Danilo Veiga are sidelined for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Ndaba, Siebert, Tiago Gabriel, Gallo; Coulibaly, Maleh; Pierotti, Gandelman, Sottil; Stulic

Unavailable: Gaspar (Suspended), Veiga (Suspended), Berisha (Injured), Camarda (Injured)

Questionable: Pierret (Injured)

AC Milan vs Lecce prediction

AC Milan play a typically Allegri style of football. The former Juventus boss is known for his very dour and defensive style. It can be very effective but it is now overly pleasant to watch. Di Francesco has become a slightly better coach in charge of minnows due to an added bit of pragmatism to his previously chaotic style. Like it was the other day against Inter, this should be a low-scoring encounter but, like with Inter, the home team should grind it out.

AC Milan vs Lecce tip: AC Milan to win & under 3.5 goals
