Pakistan will have been delighted with their batting performance after winning the toss and opting to bat first in Sharjah. All bar one player managed to reached double-figures, which shouldn’t be underestimated in a T20i and anchored by captain Salman Ali Agha’s half-century, Pakistan posted a score of 182-7. The bowlers then took over, strangling Afghanistan and triggering a glut of wickets in the middle overs as the run-rate steadily rose. In the end, Afghanistan were bowled out for 143, Pakistan winning by 39 runs.

Such an impressive all-round showing bodes well for Pakistan moving forwards and whilst consistency can sometimes be an issue where they are concerned, they are a stronger cricketing side than United Arab Emirates and really should grab control early on over the hosts, especially if they can keep their intensity levels high in the field and all contribute with the bat. Therefore, back this Pakistan side to register a second win in as many days.
