World number 75 Ashlyn Krueger and number 78 Nadia Podoroska will face-off for the second time in two weeks after Podoroska came back from a set down to beat the American in the first round at Indian Wells. The Argentine snuck through qualifying two weeks ago before an intriguing run to the third round as a lucky loser but she successfully came through qualifying this week, handily in fact, to look ready for a rematch. 19-year-old Krueger stunned Caroline Garcia at the Dubai Masters before an impressive three-set exit to Karolina Pliskova in Dubai this time last month and she won her maiden WTA title at the Osaka Open last summer to make a strong case as a rising star of US tennis. The American will be backed to the hilt here but a strong South American contingent will do their part for Podoroska. The pair share a 1-1 head-to-head with Krueger earning at least a set in both encounters so back the teenager to do so again here to leave the result up to chance.
